  Lahore Church Attack

Human Rights Voice for Minoity condems the terroret attack on the churches in Lahore where 20 innocent christians martyred HRVM organised

protest rallies against the sad incident  we also condem the burning of the two suspect of the incident according to the local people these were

involved in shooting upon the christians but even then they must not be killed and burnt but one possibility is that the supportes of the terrorists

were in the mob who were giving the backing to the suiciders and becuse some of them were caught red handed while they were firing there other

companions may have provoked the mob to kill them and burn them so that there must not be any living evidence which could help in reaching

the master minds,

At the same time the speach of the interior minister of Pakistan in the national assembly is highly condemable where he spoke nothing about the

suiciders but on the contrary  he called the christian protestors the TERRORIST forgetting that protest is the basic  right in democracy and according to

the constitution of Pakistan.

The same interior minister remained silent when a christian couple were burnt alive last year by the muslim mob, when many children and women were

burnt alive in their houses in Korian village Gojara, when 200 christians were killed in Peshawar church blast when many houses of the christians were

burnt in 2013 at Lahore. on 25th september 2003 at their home town Taxila in christian hospital Taxila church four christian women were killed.

the main culprit of the famous blesphemy case in Islamabad RIMSHA (Downsyndrome girl) are not in the jail although court declared the blesphemy

case rigestered against her was melafidy

I can quote hundreds of such cases killed by the terrorist organizations in Pakistan and many chrisrtians are killed because of false blesphemy cases

many are still in prisons Asia bibi is another victim of false blesphemy case but  our interior minister wanted to have a peace dialogue with the terrorist

and has no courage to cnodem them and could not openly declare them terorists in the national assembly even they have killed more than 60,000 army and

civilians of Pakistan but perhaps christian minority is the easiest target for the minister and the killers to declare the terrorist,

He has issued the certificate of innocence to the one victim of the two burnt but yet inquiries arein process where as for the other burnt body is not claimed by any one

who is he? if both were innocent then who were shooting upon the christian terrorist busy in their worship? were all blind people at the spot they could not see the

persons firing on the innocent or the tererost christians?

Asia bibi elleged of blasphemy, waiting for presidents mercy !

Lahore (AsiaNews) – Punjab Governor Salman Taseer on Saturday said that he hoped that President Asif Ali Zardari would approve and sign the plea by Asia Bibi, a Christian woman detained and sentenced to death for allegedly committing blasphemy.

He made the comment to journalists after visiting Asia Bibi in Shaikhupura District Prison. He explained that Asia Bibi’s plea for mercy had already been sent to the President and that he hoped to see the latter approve her request and sign it soon.

“It has nothing to do with religion; it’s about humanity,” the governor of Punjab insisted. Poor people, he noted, are usually helpless; when they are dragged into such cases, they become the object of ridicule. He would not however comment on the court’s verdict.

"I have small children," pleaded Asia Bibi, wearing a veil covering all but her eyes. "For God's sake, please set me free."

“I want my mother to be released in time for Christmas, so we can celebrate together,” Bibi's 18-year-old daughter, Sidra, told AsiaNews.

Asia Bibi’s entire family is waiting for President Zardari’s decision. Ms Bibi has been in prison for a year and half. During that time, she was convicted for blasphemy.

"I just want to see my mother," said ten-year-old Esha, between sobs.

Esha is a special child and is very attached to her mother, who used to take care of her. She is one of Asia’s five children. The others are Naseem, the eldest who is married and lives away from the family home, Imran (22), Sidra (18) and Esham (9).

“I saw my mother Tuesday after a long time,” Esha said. However, she is afraid that “they are going to let her die in prison.”

In the meantime, the campaign by AsiaNews to get Asia Bibi released continues. So far, 4,000 people have signed up. More support is pouring in. Messages are not coming from only Italy. Many are from Eastern Europe (Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia), Vietnam, Spain, United States as well as Japan, not to mention Latin America.

  Celebrating Human Rights Day !

Hrvm is celebrating human rights day with the international community on December 10, 2010.

Famous human rights activists are joining us this day to create awareness of the current situation of democratic rights and human rights in pakistan.

We would also have the opportunity to learn from famous speakers that about the condition of minorities in Pakistan and what sufferings they are going through.

Governor Punjab Salman Taseer Assassinated in an Attack in Islamabad

Governor Punjab, businessman, media mogul, PPP leader – was gunned down outside a restaurant in Kohsar Market, Islamabad, by one of his own guards. The guard – reportedly, a Malik Mumtaz Hussain Qadri – was part of the security Elite Force depute assigned to keep Salman Taseer safe gunned down the Punjab Governor with as many as 27 bullets. Later the guard handed himself to the police and said that he had killed Salman Taseer because of his vocal opposition to the Blasphemy Law.

Malik Mumtaz Hussain Qadri may have pulled the trigger but let us all hang our head in shame today because Salman Taseer was killed by the intolerance, the hatred, the extremism, the vigilantism, the violence and the jahalat that now defines our society. He was killed by the unchecked abundance of false sanctimony where custodians of morality have been breathing fire and instigating violence. Each one of us, including his own party, should be ashamed today for having tolerated the pall of intolerance that has eventually gunned down this man. Today’s Pakistan is defined by Mumtaz Hussain Qadris. They exist all around us. And it is all of us who tolerate them and their intolerance. It is this tolerance of intolerance that kills.

Today, it claimed yet one more victim.

Farrukh Mushtaq Gill and his father Mushtaq Gill, have been arrested for Blasphemy

Farrukh Mushtaq Gill and his father Mushtaq Gill, have been arrested for Blasphemy on April 15, 2011, in Gujuranwala, Pakistan.

The case of blasphemy is registered on burning pages of Quran against Father and Son in Gujranwala city where Farrukh Gill was working as a Welfare Officer at "National Bank", and his father is a teacher at the "Christian Technical Training Center" Guranjawala Pakistan.

The little boys who were handed the blasphemous papers by someone say that neither the father nor the son are the ones who handed over the papers. However the handwriting has remarkable similarity. The two are in protective custody."

There have been dozens of cases of defiling name of Prophet Mohammad and desecration of Pages of Quran against Christians in Lahore, Kasur, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Tobe Tek, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Multan, Bahawalpur , Layyah, Nankana Sahib, Jhang and Sargodha districts of Punjab province of Pakistan.

There are 36 total districts of Punjab province of Pakistan in which Faisalabad leads in cases against Christians under blasphemy. The Lahore district leads in killing of Christians accused of blasphemy law while Faisalabad on 2nd and Sialkot on 3rd number.

The Kasur district of Punjab leads in attacks of Muslim mobs on Christian life and property while Faisalabad on 2nd number.

The Faisalabad is 1st on burning Christian alive on accusation of blasphemy while Lahore and Sialkot tie on killing Christians accused of blasphemy in jails.

Lahore is the district of Punjab where blasphemy accused Christians were stabbed to death in Hospital and Police Stations.

Lahore is 1st in shooting Christians accused of blasphemy in vicinities of courtrooms while Faisalabad stands on 2nd number.

It is alarming situation of Punjab province of Pakistan where Christians are on 2nd number in population after Muslims and in same province the cases registered against Christians under blasphemy law are 98% while in Sindh 1% and Khyber Pukhtunkhawa 1%. There is one province in Pakistan where there is 0% of cases registered against Christian after enforcement of Section 295 B and C PPC in 1986, and that is Balochistan province of Pakistan.

HRVM has addressed this issue on various platforms and requests a proper investigation of this incdient.

  Youth Conference on democratic rights

A  youth conference was arranged on democratic rights by HRVM , in which around 400 youngsters participated from around all the areas of pakistan.

Speakers with various backgrounds like professors and lawyers provided their insight and detailed information to the participants. You can view some of the highlights at our picture gallery.

  Three Hindu Doctors killed .....

Three doctors Ajeet Kumar, Naresh Kumar and Ashok Kumar were shot in broad daylight on the same day in Sindh province. The reasons for their death remain fuzzy and unknown.

Killings like these send a shiver down the collective spine of the minority community in Pakistan. There is a belief that some regions of Pakistan, like Karachi, are more hostile towards minorities.

Whatever be the reason, the killing of the three doctors in Sindh has impacted the minority community in Pakistan leaving them jittery and uncomfortable in their own country.

HRMV strongly condemns killing of the innocent doctors and appeals for an neutral investigation of this matter at highest level possible. HRVM stands shoulders to shoulders with the families of murdered doctors for the criminals to be brought to justice.

Three Water Filter Plants Gifted from HRVM

Three Water Filter Plants have been donated to a christian colony in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

There has been a long known issue regarding the quality of drinking water in this poor colony. People were forced to drink water which was becoming reason of several stomach and other diseases among people and especially children. As this is a poor colony and not too many people are well settled here so this colony is never given a proper attention in may regards.

HRVM was blessed to help this community by donating three water filter plants so the adults and children can have safe an healthy water to drink.

President of HRVM , Prof. Ronald Pervaiz felt a strong need of provision of clean drinking water to this colony when he visited himself the colony. On the very next day he brought up this issue among the members of HRVM. With in a week all plants were bought and installed to the colony.

We Consider this a small token of concern to the minorities in pakistan yet we count it as one big achievement of HRVM. Now hundreds of people have their hands safe, healthy, clean drinking water.

14 year Christian Girl accused of blasphemy

Police arrested the girl, Rimsha, who reportedly has Down's Syndrome, in a low-income neighbourhood of the capital last Thursday after she was accused of burning papers containing verses from the Koran, and remanded her for 14 days.

Rimsha, aged between 11 and 16, is being held in a jail in Islamabad's twin city Rawalpindi, and her case has prompted concern from Western governments and fury from rights campaigners.

"The lawyers are facing difficulties to see the accused girl. The jail authorities have told them to get permission from the top authorities," Shamaun Alfred Gill, a spokesman for All Pakistan Minorities Alliance (APMA), told AFP.

Her legal team said they had approached the higher authorities in Punjab province but could not get a go ahead for the meeting.

"I myself contacted the inspector general (of prisons) by phone and he told me that he will call me back, but I am still waiting to speak to him," Tahir Naveed Chaudhry, one of Rimsha's lawyers, told AFP.

"He is not receiving my calls now. Legally, they can't stop a lawyer seeing his client in the jail but the authorities are refusing us a meeting."

But Farooq Nazir, the inspector-general of Punjab prisons, told AFP there was no restriction on Rimsha meeting her lawyer or immediate family and insisted she was being cared for.

Rimsha is being held in the same jail as Mumtaz Qadri, the bodyguard who last year gunned down Punjab governor Salman Taseer, who had declared Pakistan's strict anti-blasphemy legislation "a black law".

Chaudhry said that they have also filed an application with a court in Islamabad to set up a medical panel to determine Rimsha's age.

"We want the court to constitute a commission to judge the age of Rimsha, because, the church records show she is 11 years old only. While her age mentioned in the police report is 16," he said.

  International Human Rights Day !

HRVM continuing its efforts for human rights, celebrated this year as well the Human Rights Day on Dec 10, 2012 at a local church in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

A large number of attendees benefited from this seminar, where people from every walk of life participated and various representations were made from multiple religions. Scholars from Christians, Muslims, Hindus and sikh communities participated to create awareness for rights for minorities in Pakistan.

At the same seminar a resolution was passed unanimously too to involve different types of media to create awareness on the improving life standards of minorities and to educate about their basic human rights.
HRVM has always taken a step further improve the quality of life for minorities in Pakistan and to provide education about their human rights.

100 killed, hundreds injured in Peshawar city of Pakistan in a church attack by 2 suicide bombers

A twin suicide bombing killed more than 100 people at a church service in northwest Pakistan on Sunday, officials said, in what is believed to be the country’s deadliest attack on Christians.

The two attackers struck at the end of a service at All Saints Church in  Peshawar, the main town in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province which has borne the brunt of a bloody Islamist insurgency in recent years.
The small and largely impoverished Christian community suffers discrimination in overwhelmingly Muslim-majority Pakistan
Reporters at the scene saw shreds of human flesh and bloodstains on the walls and floor of the church, whose windows had been ripped apart by the blast.
Pages of a Bible were scattered near the altar and rice meals mingled with dust on the floor amid shattered benches. Walls were gouged with ball bearings used in the explosives, they said.
Grieving relatives blocked the main Grand Trunk Road highway with bodies of the victims to protest against the killings.
Christians in Karachi, Lahore, Multan and other cities also staged protest rallies to condemn the killings and demand state protection for their lives and properties.
Only around two percent of Pakistan’s population of 180 million are Christian. The community complains of growing discrimination.
Christians have a precarious existence in Pakistan, often living in slum-like “colonies” cheek-by-jowl with Muslims and fearful of allegations of blasphemy, a sensitive subject that can provoke outbursts of public violence.
In the town of Gojra in Punjab province in 2009, a mob burned 77 houses and killed seven people after rumours that a copy of the Islamic holy book the Koran had been desecrated during a Christian marriage ceremony.
Rimsha Masih, a Christian girl who was arrested for alleged blasphemy last year, fled to Canada with her family in June after the charges were dropped.
HRVM strongly condems such a coward act and shares the pain and grievance with the victims and will raise voice at various platforms against this brutal attack. We stand with the victims and will help the victims anyway possible, President HRVM Prof. Ronald Pervaiz said.
